Danny Benedetti

Bio

Coach Danny Benedetti serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Fairmont Preparatory Academy, bringing a rich and diverse coaching background that spans youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Known for his leadership, professionalism, and dedication to coaching excellence, Coach Benedetti strives to develop student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.

A standout collegiate player at St. John’s University (New York), he earned recognition for both athletic performance and academic achievement. His honors include:

• All-Big East Conference Team

• Big Ten/Big East Tournament Team

• Johnny Bench Award Watch List (Catchers)

• All-Big East Conference Academic Team

• Scholar Baller Award (Baseball – Northeast Region)

Coach Benedetti brings over a decade of NCAA Division I coaching experience, having contributed to several nationally respected programs including:

• Cal State University Fullerton (CSUF)

• San Diego State University (SDSU)

• Manhattan College

• St. John’s University–New York

• Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB)

He has also coached in top collegiate summer leagues such as the Northwoods League and the Hampton’s Collegiate Baseball League.

As a high school head coach, Coach Benedetti emphasizes the importance of balance—encouraging athletes to pursue excellence in academics, character, and athletic performance. His integrity, experience, and passion for the game help guide his players toward success in all areas of their high school careers.

Coach Benedetti holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University Long Beach and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from St. John’s University–New York.

Fun Fact: While playing at St. John’s, Coach Benedetti had the honor of catching the very first pitch ever thrown at Citi Field, delivered by former New York Met and fellow St. John’s alumnus John Franco.
