Bio

Josh Lozano enters his tenth year of coaching high school basketball, bringing a decade of experience, leadership, and player-centered development to the girls’ program. He began his coaching career at Cypress High School on the boys’ side before moving on to serve as an assistant coach at Fairmont Prep. The following year, he joined the prestigious Mater Dei program as an assistant, further sharpening his technical and cultural understanding of elite-level basketball.

Coach Lozano later returned to Fairmont Prep to take over as head coach, where he quickly elevated the program. In only his second season, he guided his team to the CIF Southern Section Open Division Playoffs—an exclusive field reserved for the top eight teams in the region—marking one of the program’s most impressive accomplishments.

Coach Lozano’s passion lies in youth mentorship and long-term player development. He is committed to building community through a sustained culture of academic and athletic excellence. Believing that basketball is a vehicle for teaching life lessons, he focuses on preparing student-athletes for the next chapters of their lives both on and off the court. His mission is simple: to empower young women to grow, lead, compete, and succeed with purpose
