Cross Country Shines at San Joaquin League #2
Our Fairmont Huskies proudly represented Fairmont Preparatory Academy at the San Joaquin League Cluster #2 meet! With new schools joining the league this year, the competition was tougher than ever—but our Varsity boys and girls rose to the challenge with grit and determination.
On the boys' side, freshman standout Grant Story, a recent transfer from Fairmont San Juan Capistrano, led the Huskies with an 8th-place team finish out of 14 schools. Grant crossed the line in 28th place overall (19:21) out of 110 runners, marking a strong debut season performance.
For the girls, Brithany Betanzos continued her impressive form, finishing 9th overall and leading the team to an outstanding 3rd-place finish out of 6 schools.
Next up, the Huskies will head to the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational, where they'll compete against some of the top programs in Southern California and preview the storied CIF-SS course they hope to return to in November.
